Volkswagen has unveiled the new version of the Polo Robust

Volkswagen has announced the release of an updated version of the Polo Track model for the Brazilian automotive market, named the Robust. According to the company’s statement, the development of the car involved input from car enthusiasts in the agricultural sector. Unlike pickup trucks like the Saveiro or larger SUVs like the Amarok, the Polo Robust offers a compact and affordable alternative.

The newly introduced variant of the Polo hatchback has been dubbed the Robust and is aimed at consumers in need of improved ground clearance and off-road capability. The vehicle features increased clearance and other elements to ensure comfortable travel on challenging road conditions, such as gravel roads. It’s worth noting that this model retains front-wheel drive.

The exterior of the Polo Robust closely resembles the standard Polo Track version, with the exception of the «Robust» badge on the rear door. The car is equipped with 15-inch steel wheels with black caps, tinted rear lights, and a sturdy bumper — all characteristics typical of the Polo Track.

Additionally, Volkswagen offers two additional accessory packages that enhance the functionality and suitability of the Polo Robust for agricultural use. The first package includes vinyl seat covers, rubber floor mats, and a protective net intended for use on farms and rural areas. The second package complements the first by adding a rubber cargo mat and a towing hitch for trailers.

Inside, the Polo Robust retains the same powertrain configuration: the car is equipped with a 1.0-liter MPI Flex engine, delivering 83 horsepower and 101 Nm of torque. Paired with the engine is a 5-speed manual transmission, delivering power to the front wheels. The «flex» technology indicates the transmission’s ability to run on both gasoline and compressed natural gas, providing flexibility in fuel choice.
