The new Nissan crossover has been unveiled with a bold design

Nissan has unveiled the second-generation Kicks crossover on the American market, which could potentially replace the Qashqai model in the near future. This unique and affordable SUV from the brand now features all-wheel drive and an increased ground clearance of up to 213 mm, along with noticeable size growth.

The new Kicks has been extended in all dimensions: length – 4366 mm, width – 1801 mm, and height – 1631 mm. The wheelbase size varies depending on the version: for front-wheel-drive models – 2657 mm, for all-wheel-drive – 2664 mm.

Additionally, the Kicks has adopted the new CMF-B platform from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, replacing the outdated V-shaped platform. This shift makes the car technically closer to the new Dacia Duster, with its exterior design inspired by its «relative» – the Renault automobile.

The platform overhaul has enabled the Kicks to feature mechanical all-wheel drive with a clutch on the rear axle and independent rear suspension. The same platform is utilized in the Dacia Duster.

The engine of the new Kicks is a 2.0-liter 143-horsepower MR20DD unit paired with a continuously variable Xtronic transmission. It offers driving modes such as Normal, Eco, and Sport, with the Snow mode available for all-wheel-drive models to ensure safe driving in snowy conditions.

The interior space of the Kicks has become more modern and technologically advanced. It now boasts a wide monoscreen in front of the driver, integrating the digital dashboard and multimedia system. Moreover, the new Kicks comes equipped with LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking systems, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring.
